Schneider

Schneider

Pencil mustache. Cigarette pack rolled in his sleeve. Smarmy grin. Tool belt.

For the life of me, I can’t figure out why I find Pat Harrington’s depiction of Schneider in One Day at a Time to be anything other than sleazy. Sure, sleazy comes to mind, especially during the early episodes when he’s incessantly hitting on Ann Romano (RIP, Bonnie Franklin). Yet he somehow made his way into my heart.

He’s the handyman who never really fixed anything, other than people’s lives.
